With a deep-rooted commitment to the East African immigrant community, Finote Wongel - Path of the Gospel provides essential services such as parenting workshops, youth mentorship and faith-based outreach. We address critical challenges including language barriers, cultural adaptation, and social isolation, ensuring that families and individuals receive the guidance and resources they need to thrive.
Through strong community partnerships and an unwavering focus on empowerment, Finote Wongel fosters long-term stability and growth for those facing economic and social hardships. Our goal is to create a stronger, more connected, and self-sufficient community where every individual has the opportunity to succeed.
In 2024, we partnered with the Meklit East African Family Support Group under the Best Start for Kids grant to strengthen family connections and support East African immigrant families. For this project, parent and youth workshops led by mental health professionals and trusted faith leaders were held addressing communication, cultural adjustment, and stress management. Group discussions and creative activities for youth were conducted to build resilience, navigate peer pressure, and process first-generation challenges.
